Why HanseRouter
One contract, one key, one invoice.
Instead of settling with every provider separately, you get open models from one place.
Open models in one place
Models for chat, code and image understanding from different makers through one API. The catalogue shows what we are preparing for launch.
Browse modelsOnly the base URL changes
You keep using the OpenAI SDK, n8n or curl as before. You only swap the base URL and the key.
See the codeProcessing in the EU
HanseRouter runs on servers in Germany and only routes to providers that process requests in the EU.
Planned providersNo content stored
We store neither prompts nor responses. Only counters such as model and tokens are kept for billing.
Data protection
For developers
Swap the base URL. That is the migration.
Three steps to your first request. This is the planned flow for the closed beta.
Request access
Register in the customer portal or send us an email. During the closed beta we activate accounts one by one.
app.hanserouter.eu/registrierenAdd credit, create a key
In the portal you add credit in euros and create an API key. Billing is based on usage.
export HANSEROUTER_API_KEY="..."
Swap the base URL
Enter the HanseRouter base URL in your SDK or tool. HanseRouter routes the request to the provider of the selected model.
base_url="https://api.hanserouter.eu/v1"
curl https://api.hanserouter.eu/v1/chat/completions \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $HANSEROUTER_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{
"model": "MODEL_ID",
"messages": [{
"role": "user",
"content": "Summarise this text in two sentences."
}]
}'# The OpenAI SDK stays unchanged. Only the base URL and key are new.
import os
from openai import OpenAI
client = OpenAI(
base_url="https://api.hanserouter.eu/v1",
api_key=os.environ["HANSEROUTER_API_KEY"],
)
response = client.chat.completions.create(
model="MODEL_ID",
messages=[{
"role": "user",
"content": "Summarise this text in two sentences.",
}],
)
print(response.choices[0].message.content)1. In n8n, create a new credential of type "OpenAI". 2. Base URL: https://api.hanserouter.eu/v1 3. API Key: your key from the customer portal (app.hanserouter.eu). 4. Select this credential in the OpenAI node or the AI Agent node and enter the model ID.
Example · MODEL_ID is a placeholder. The model catalogue shows which models we are preparing. We will publish the supported endpoints at launch.
